We've kicked off activities planned as part of the ASEAN Economic Integration Programme (EIP), which aims to support more inclusive economic development in the ASEAN region, with an event focused on the transition to net zero. Representatives from various ASEAN member states (AMS) joined a tailored webinar to hear from Emily Faint, Senior Policy Manager, Net Zero, at BSI, sharing updates on climate actions including decarbonisation. Attendees were introduced to the ISO Net Zero guidelines and learned developments from national standards bodies. This was one of the first activities of the ‘Standards and National Quality Infrastructure’ workstream, which we're leading on as part of the wider Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office - funded ASEAN EIP, in partnership with the UK's Department for Business and Trade. Rilwan 'Bola Fashina, Chief of Staff at the Nigerian National Quality Council (NQC), said at a Standards Partnership (SP) event we hosted last week.
